Traversing my way around with a guide cane, an adaptive technology device, four acute senses, and ballsy adventuring blunders -- Here I am frequenting Break the Barriers on a weekly basis.

S T A F F:

Cheerful, friendly, and very knowledgeable of the programs that are being offered at the BTB facility. The staff are very professional and also really down to earth too.

S E R V I C E S:

Aside from the archery program, I've yet to check out their other programs, but looking forward to checking out their aquatics program when the weather warms up a bit. Right now its about to be December...and its frigidly cold!

E X P E R I E N C E:

I recently joined the competitive Break the Barriers Archery Team. I used to shoot archery when I was able-bodied, yet I had to overcome some life-changing hurdles to relearn my beloved sport of archery after a freak-occupational accident that caused severe vision loss. Through archery coaching and adaptive archery services at Break the Barriers, I am able to enjoy this sport again. (WOOHOO!!!)

Overall, I have enjoyed the camaraderie that I've received from both my challenged athlete and able-bodied teammates. Everyone from the BTB archery program, staff and participants have been very respectful, supportive, and sometimes hilarious. It's nice to feel like I'm a part of something where "disability" divides us apart.

I signed up hip hop class for my twins. There were around 6 kids in the class. 4 of them are abnormal, 1 handicapped, 1 has ADHD, 1 Down syndrome and the last one doesn’t talk. I wanted to withdraw them from the class because they teach so slow and my kids get bored. If you have normal children and want to learn, don’t take them here. They don’t give refund for dance classes. I’ll just stop bringing them to class.

Great place and I love their kindness!
Also I love the fact that they don’t put you in a class and that they let you do an evaluation so they can see what you got!
And their staff are amazing and so kind to the kids. Overall Break the Barriers is Exellent!

I will be joining back this organization is great ! The staff for classes are great speaking for swimming and ballet loved it ,, what I hate and it happened again is that when I went w to inquire about classes for my daughter the older front desk was not helpful at all and when I told her I was with FUSD grant program she changed her demeanor told me there's no classes I had to get the flyers on the side look and find a class and practically tell them there is a clas and I want my duaghter to join. Then I talked to the owner she was very nice told me her story met her son very nice people,, but this year,, again I tried enrolling another child and again very rude told her I wanted to see if there's classes shut me down interrupted me talking said I need to tell my worker to send a referral I kept asking the Email she said they have all that she know my info. That she needs to see what the worker willing to pay for first before she tells me what class . I told her the worker said to just call to see if there's any open so we can pay for it. She wouldn't let me finish in that to her she just said no that's now how it works . Very rude.

This is simply the best place in the valley. The staff truly cares about the kids and the community they serve. The services they provide to the veterans are priceless and the absolute pinnacle of giving back to the community. I have seen veterans overcome significant obstacles and disabilities to become competitors and team members in their adaptive sports program. Thanks to everyone who gives to this organization and the employees who deeply care about helping people.

This place only wants your money. They don’t care about the students or families who pay to attend classes. They will bump you for new clients first because it’s all about more money faster to them. Sad this place use to care about the students and kids. Now they just care about profit. Go somewhere else with your kids and money!!
