I’ve seen the negative comments as a response I just want to say I’ve been her twice and according to these comments these people did not go with a church to participate in the camp, if you want a fun Christian experience go with a church

Awesome! Just plain awesome. Best camp to come and enjoy a little piece of east Texas forest and a lot of friendly Christian people.

The only reason this is getting a 2 star was because the service was good and the food was good as well. When we arrived there, the camp pastor never told us that we didn't have any electricity or AC so it was brutally hot when trying to sleep. I believe that was because they only cared about money and not of the safety of the children. There was many kids who passed out or was suffering from heat exhaustion. Ps, the beds have bed bugs and the cabins were very musty and I got chewed up pretty badly bed bugs.

I brought my youth group to this camp. The property and all the buildings are beautiful. The guest pastor was amazing; the praise band was awesome. The camp has every sport, activity, and game you could ever imagine. If you want your youth to learn a little more about Jesus and spend LOTS of time having fun, this is a great place. But I have brought my youth to other camps that start the day with quiet time with the Lord, more time in the church group, growing closer friendships, and more spiritually. Other camps have organized team rec that allows church groups to build teamwork and compete in a way that encourages sportsmanship. I appreciate the camps that have more activities that grow the youth spiritually. Pineywoods has a limited amount of time scheduled for that. There is too much free time during the day that could be better spent doing what parents and churches send their kids to a Christian camp to do. The Bible lessons were impactful, I just wish there were more activities throughout the time there that were powerful as well.

I went a few days ago for 4 days and let me tell you it was amazing. The beds may not be as amazing along with the amount of bugs in there but the pastors and free time and all the fun rides and the amazing pool make up for it. The life guards (not all of them) are a bit rude though. One of them told me I should go back to the cabin because what I was wearing “wasn’t appropriate” I was wearing long sleeved shirt and pants for swimming…in the middle of summer. Anyways it was pretty fun!

My husband and I had some legit concerns about our minor daughter working there and they basically laughed in our faces and laughed when I pointed out they are supposed to be a Christian based camp. The director himself even mocked us and asked what is Christian based supposed to mean?! We asked that our daughter isn’t in a house with boys in it until 11 pm (that’s how late the boys are allowed in the house/living room) and that she would be allowed to go to church with us on Sunday and Wednesdays. The guy basically laughed in my face and said that would leave no time for her to work. They are literally working our kids from 6:30/7:30 in the morning until midnight on some days! He laughed at all of our concerns instead of trying to accommodate and make things right. Please remember this if you are truly a Christian. Christ is not the heart of the camp.
