A minimalist art display of concrete objects on the desert for thought-provoking, imagination and reflection. We didn't get a chance for a guided tour but still enjoyed ourselves a lot with the view and the art works. A must-see for any art lover coming to Marfa.

We weren’t lucky enough to see the entire exhibition open. We only visited the small shop and the outdoor exhibition. I bought a book (there were some interesting titles). It was an intriguing place, and if I ever have the chance to go back, I’d love to see the rest. Personally, I would recommend stopping by if you have the time.

It was a great experience to appreciate a large-scale exhibition. The mix of lights and shadows playing with the shapes and structures was quite an experience. If you enjoy art and walking to immerse yourself in the experience, you'll have a great time!

Docent didn’t seem very knowledgeable, didn’t share any insights or details on the art. Wasn’t able to answer questions. Basically the group had a paid chaperone. The bulk of the information we received was various forms of don’t touch. Regardless of what you think of Judd, the lack of interaction and knowledge on this tour was astonishing. We crossed paths with another tour and that guide was much more informative. Wish we could have tagged along.
The actual buildings were more interesting to me than the art. Judd’s ego easily outsized Texas. Glad that era in art has come to a close. Interesting to read about the history of the foundation and its impact on the area (both negative and positive).

Massive buildings for massive artworks. Unfortunately the whole place doesn't make you entirely feel welcomed and the buildings too closely resemble the barracks architecture of concentration camps.

On the website it suggested a guided tour, but we didn't want to do that. Well, when we got there, they said you have to. We were only allowed to view some lame concrete blocks outside. And they didn't want to just add us to a group. Waste of time.

Five stars for the Robert Irwin piece, which is lovely. But I'm really writing this review to let you know that while the website says tours are "strongly recommended", what they don't tell you is that they are required, period. Even if the building with the cubes is open, and there are people in it, and it's during visiting hours, they still won't let you see the art unless you're on a tour, even if there are like seven people on the premises there who could theoretically help you. This is a weird and frustrating policy that I hope they change — but until they do, only come if you have a tour booked!
